Healing Vinyasa with Gwen Soffer (Pay What You Can Class)

This is a very gentle class that will focus on healing and connecting. We hope to see you there!

Supported by a circle of women, we will learn to trust our bodies, our intuition, our responses, and our natural and fierce feminine power while learning simple and effective self-defense techniques. This is so much more than just a self-defense class. We will learn valuable self-defense skills as well as the skills of self-confidence and awareness that can be applied to all aspect of our lives. Gwen Soffer, co-owner of Enso, developed this program for women and girls and is committed to creating a safe space for women to join in community.

This class is open to beginners as well as advanced students. This practice is done in moderate heat and focuses on building strength through your asana. The class will warm up your body with poses linked together with breath. These poses will consist of sun salutations, standing poses, seated poses, balance poses, hip openers and many others.

What is MBSR?

Stress affects all of us - physically, mentally, and emotionally. What if there was a proven technique to reduce stress and increase wellness? This is where Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) can help. World wide, tens of thousands of people have completed the MBSR program. Developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, MBSR is supported by over two decades of research. During this program you will develop critical life-long stress management skills that have proven to reduce stress, improve health, and increase quality of life.

Instructor:

Curt Woolford, MA, E-RYT began his personal mindfulness practice over 25 years ago. He has studied mindfulness-based stress reduction with Jon Kabat-Zinn, The Penn Program for Mindfulness, and the Jefferson Mindfulness Institute.

Curt has been an instructor of mindfulness, yoga, tai chi, and qigong for more than 15 years. With degrees in Philosophy and Educational Psychology, he brings a deep awareness of the learning process to his mindfulness instruction.
